Lockton (2023-2024)

Lockton brought me on to enhance their world-class social media presence, with a focus on leveraging LinkedIn to drive business outcomes in recruiting, thought leadership, and bolstering Lockton’s brand visibility. Collaborating with Deloitte, we devised a phased global business strategy for LinkedIn, implementing it alongside the adoption of new social media technology (Sprinklr) and fostering knowledge-sharing among Lockton staff.

Initially, Lockton had nearly 90 disparate LinkedIn pages worldwide, each independently representing the brand. Through collaboration with Deloitte, LinkedIn, Sprinklr, and Lockton teams globally, we consolidated these into one central page now managed by multiple admins worldwide who publish of hyper-targeted content.

RESULTS

  • Lockton went from 80+ brand pages to a single, global presence with 270k followers and growing

  • Build and implementation of Sprinklr as a enterprise global social media management tool

  • Build and launch of social media advocacy site for Lockton employees

The Penny Hoarder (2021-2023)

As the Community Product Marketing Manager at The Penny Hoarder, I oversaw the product roadmap, marketing, and growth strategies for The Penny Hoarder's community website.

When I joined The Penny Hoarder team, it quickly became evident that the platform hosting our Community site was outdated. After thorough research, I proposed migrating the site to Discourse, a more modern and cost-effective platform that fit the overall needs of both the community and the business. Following approval, I collaborated closely with the IT, UX, design, and marketing teams to launch the new site within weeks, adhering to a strict deadline.

The result is easy-to-navigate forum with reinvigorated contributions from super users that is also an inviting place for new members.

The Penny Hoarder community is full of like-minded individuals who support each other in improving their finances. It was my goal to make the member experience exceptional with each visit.

RESULTS

  • Successful migration to new cost-effective platform

  • Averaged 20% growth in engaged users YoY (2021-2022)

  • 40,000 members and growing

International Dairy Queen (2019-2020)

At IDQ, I helped clean up the Facebook pages of nearly 5,000 DQ's across the US, collecting them under the Dairy Queen corporate page so they could be managed collectively in Facebook Business Manager. This project was complex, as the majority of DQ franchises had multiple Facebook pages – some actively managed, some simply abandoned and many more rogue pages created by customers.

Through a phased approach, I worked with the teams at IDQ, Facebook and Yext to keep the Facebook integration process organized and on track for completion under strict deadlines.

There was a large human element that needed to be nurtured as well, as many of the DQ franchise owners had questions and concerns about the Facebook cleanup process.

RESULTS

  • Successful integration of nearly 5,000 restaurant locations' Facebook, Google My Business and Yelp pages into Yext

Omahype (2010-2017)

An events-focused website promoting the arts, entertainment and creative communities in Omaha. At Omahype, I was a co-founder and managing editor, leading the charge on editorial content and daily operations for over five years. I also played an integral role in the overall usability of the site, which seamlessly blended a custom Rails-based CMS and a WordPress-powered blog.

Omahype was a dream project to work on. Not only did it serve as a leading voice for a thriving creative community in an oft-overlooked Midwestern city, it also allowed me the freedom to curate the most robust events calendar in the area (at the time) and experiment with the editorial content, including managing an incredibly talented group of interns and contributors who've gone on to be authors, editors and professional journalists. While the domain is currently up for sale. You can still view Omahype via Wayback Machine.
